About the event
Possibly one of the greatest moments in the history of sport was in the year 2000 when the United Nations (UN) adopted and signed what we now call the Millenium Development Goals. 8 goals to treat and restore human dignity around the world by using sport as a tool and vehicle for this change.
It is through discussions and summits like these which paved the way to the establishment of international collaboration towards achieving common goals, but importantly this also opened the door for the advancement in sporting careers for young professionals such as coaches.
In the interest of mass participation in sports, coaches and young professionals were no longer bound to the borders they lived in, but were able to expand their education far beyond their initial borders, assume permanent career opportunities in other countries and be able to bridge into professional sports much easier.
Coaches and their support teams are vitally important to the world of sport as we know it, especially in competitive and professional sports. Athletes/Teams around the world recruit and remunerate coaches with very large support staff to ensure their competitive edge over the international sporting community.
Coaches Education is no longer a matter of qualification and certification, but a vital tool to ensure that the highest quality of information, skill and experience is transferred to the respective athletes. But as much as we acknowledge the science, skill and experience behind coaches and their experiences, we also realize and understand that the transfer of information between coaches and other professionals form a vital link in the performance of athletes and teams and the continuity of the organization or team in which our coaches work.
This is what our Coaches Table aims to address. To ensure that coaches across the board are able to learn from each other on a veriety of topics. Be it the specific science in sport, nutrition, psychology, high performance, skills and cognitive development ect. Through collaborative efforts between industry professionals, we are able to assist and develop our sports persons at a higher level.
