Schola SA Holiday Program

Every year Schola SA is fortunate enough to host a minimum of 300 learners from various areas for a 3 week long holiday program. The program offers a combination of Skills Development, Fun and Games, Various Life Skills, Learning and Resources, Motivation and Safety and Security Topics. Our Holiday program was designed to be more than another program to simply keep the children busy, but to teach them something constructively that they can take away from the program.

Learners also receive a breakfast pack every morning, a Lunch Pack every afternoon and a snack in between to sustain them throughout the day and to ensure that learners are well fed and nurished every single day.

Through our holiday program we are also able to emply young people from the ommunity for the entire duration of the holdiay program. Over the last two Holiday Programs, we were able to employ a total number of 62 young people in different roles for the duration of the program. 

2024 however marks a very special year for this program as we try and increase the amount of learners to 400 and the amount of community paid volunteers from 30 to 40.

The most exciting part of our holiday program is most probably our program excusion. Every year we try and take all the learners out of the area and on an excusion in and around the City to experience some of the attracktions that our City has to offer. Unfortunately for many of these learners, this excusion is ther first out of the area and their first in some of the cites we will bevisiting, but it allows us to open the eyes and horizons of these learners so that they may realize that there is more to their world than the street they live in.
