Schola SA Surf Walk 2024

The Project:

On Saturday 7 December 2024, Schola SA will be taking a whopping 514 persons on our very first Surf Walk to the V&A Waterfront for a 1 day, unforgettable experience. The trip will consist of 400 school learners from the Belhar Community in the Western Cape, 100 parents and an additional 14 Volunteers from the same area. 

Busses will depart Belhar at 9am and make their way to the V&A Waterfront where we will regroup and have our first activity. From there learners will be divided into several smaller groups with parents and volunteers to manage their movements and move long the infamous sea point promenade to enjoy the ocean breeze and activities along the promenade. Here we will complete our second activity before moving on. 

We will then move along and make our way to the Green Point Gardens where most of our morning will be completed together with our third activity and have lunch. 

Once Completed, we will move along and make our way back to the V&A Waterfront to complete our day, enjoy our final activity and bid farewell to our learners to say thank you for the amazing day. 

Busses will then transport our guests back to the Belhar area from where they will depart home. 

Recruitment:

Recruitment for learners will only take place via the schools in the area, no learner will be registered independantly via Schola. Registration forms will therefore be handed to the schools. 

Recruitment will start end of October 2024 and close end of November 2024. No extensions will be given.

Costs:

Each learner and parent will be required to pay a minimal registration fee of R30 per learner and R50 per parent. This will cover the costs of Transport to and from the V&A Waterfront as well as your Lunch Pack for the day. Any additional goodies that Schola SA is able to secure in preparation for the day will be free of charge.
