Schola SA continues to promote a very important pillar in the development of young people across South Africa. Establishing tangible partnerships with key institutions, to collaborate in an effort to bring further opportunities to the young people and communities that need it.

Our Blitz Program, in collaboration with the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) is once such program.

Blitz Program:

The Blitz Program aims to empower young people across the nation and in every province with the NQF. It is importantly to note that the NQF was established to provide a level of standard, in order to awards students with a specific qualification from an accredited educational service provider and at a specific level. For example, as a matric learner finishing matric, you would have received your Matric Certificate upon completion of your grade 12 / matric year.

Given that you passed matric and met the qualifying criteria to go and study at one of our universities, your matric certificate would grade you with an NQF level 4 qualification. In University or Higher Education terms, we refer to the number of credits that one would need to obtain in order to get a specific qualification. That qualification would then be anything from an NQF 5 - NQF 10

Bonteheuwel Blitz

Through the partnership between Schola SA & SAQA, we were able to host a Blitz Program in Bonteheuwel, at Freedom Square on Monday, 17 November 2025.

The program saw Schola SA & SAQA set up stands in freedom square with flyers, pamphlets and food for the community. Learners and people passing through were then educated about the NQF system, what it actually means and how they as the public are able to engage and interact with the NQF system.
